Don’t Bully Me, Miss Nagatoro

“Don’t Bully Me, Miss Nagatoro” is a romance anime in which Nagatoro, a younger student, bullies the quiet senpai of the art club. The story is based on a manga.

Senpai is the kind of character who spends all his time drawing in the corner of the classroom. On the other hand, Nagatoro is a beautiful girl who is not good at studies but is very active and athletic. The romantic drama between these two is a bit exciting.

Nagatoro unilaterally attacks Sempai, who can’t resist much .The approach is almost like bullying, but even the initially annoyed sempai gradually begins to feel more and more attracted to Nagatoro.

The story is told mainly from Sempai’s point of view, so viewers will come to be attracted to Nagatoro as much as Sempai is. It may resonate with M’s in especially. At the same time, there are glimpses of Nagatoro’s “true emotions” here and there, which is very endearing.

Even though there is some sexuality in the film, it carefully portrays and expresses the feelings of adolescent boys and girls at the right moment. Despite the extreme nature of the setting, it’s a decent romance anime.

Impressions

When the story first started, he was just crying because Nagatoro was teasing him in a one-sided way. The reason why Sempai gradually began to have feelings for Nagatoro was because Nagatoro was not teasing him maliciously.

For us, the viewers, it’s obvious that Nagatoro and Sempai have feelings for each other. It’s an anime where you can enjoy the frustration of them not being able to express their feelings well. However, in the face of a strong enemy named “Buchō”, the two are reminded that they are becoming indispensable to each other.

When Buchō sees the picture that Senpai drew by himself for the competition with Buchō at the school festival, she immediately says that the picture is not good enough. She says Senpai doesn’t have enough “love” for his subjects. Then Buchō urges Sempai to chase after Nagatoro.

“Art is the chase,” the Buchō said. A work of art is like the sweat that spills out in the process of pursuing an ideal. The moment the work is completed, the artist is already moving on to the next goal. For an artist, a work of art is destined to become a relic of the past as soon as it is born.

Until now, Nagatoro had been chasing Senpai, which created “memories of the two of them”.Senpai threw it away by going to the canvas alone. That’s why Senpai drew a “boring picture”. Sempai realized while chasing after Nagatoro. The passion that Nagatoro and Senpai feel for each other is “love” and that it is a work of art that can only be completed by two of them.

Buchō is also aware that what she lacks is “love”. Her performance of standing next to a nude painting of herself was probably due to her desire for “love”. Bchō knows that no matter how much skill, fame, or beauty she has, she can’t get the kind of “love” that Senpai and Nagatoro have alone.。

Perhaps the Bchō wants Sempai to beat him. And she want Senpai to take over the art club with confidence. I don’t think Senpai will lose after being set up so well, but I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of work Senpai will draw after catching Nagatoro’s heart so firmly.
